The blasts took place on Republic Day, that is, on Sunday morning, when there was a festive atmosphere and security arrangements were made for the entire Republic Day celebrations. Three blasts were carried out through grenades at 5 places in the state, one in Dibrugarh district alone and one in Charaidev and Tinsukia districts. According to the information received, there is no information of any casualties in these blasts.
According to the information, the first explosion took place in Graham Bazar near a garbage dumping area, the second blast was the boundary of Sikh National School in Marwari Patty, Dibrugarh. Happened near the wall. According to information received from the sources, the wall of the school has been slightly damaged due to the explosion. The third blast took place near a footpath in Duliajan (Piplatol) in Dibrugarh and damaged the slab. The fourth blast took place near Kollipani bridge in Doomdoma in Tinsukia district of Assam, while the fifth blast took place near a shop at Tekok Ghat in Sonari in Charadev district. Information about these blasts is awaited. Investigating officers have reached the spot.
Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has condemned the blasts in Upper Assam. He has directed the Director General of the state Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta to control the situation and apprehend those who are involved in these blasts. Assam DGP Bhaskar Jyoti Mahant said that we have received information about the blast in Dibrugarh. Investigations have been started, and it is being ascertained who were behind the blast. It is worth mentioning that before the preparations for the Republic Day celebrations on Monday, there was a bomb blast in Charaidev district.
