Jaipur. The Ashok Gehlot government of Rajasthan has approved an additional budget provision of Rs 10 crore for the financial year 2019-20 in the 'Rajasthan Victim Compensation Scheme' to provide assistance to the victims in the state. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has approved the proposal to this effect. The Rajasthan State Legal Services Authority had sent a proposal for additional budget provision to the Finance Department.
It is noteworthy that the state government had made an original budget provision of Rs 18 crore for the Rajasthan Victim Compensation Scheme in the year 2019-20. After this, an additional provision of Rs 5 crore was made. In total, out of the budget of 23 crores, so far Rs 22.77 crores has been spent. According to the official statement, the application for payment of about seven crore rupees, which came under the Victim Compensation Scheme from various districts, is pending with the Rajasthan State Legal Services Authority. In such a situation, in view of the immediate need, the Chief Minister has approved an additional provision of Rs 10 crore. It is noteworthy that a person suffering from any crime in the state is provided assistance under this scheme.
