Senior analyst (commodities) Tapan Patel said, the spot price of 24 carat gold in Delhi rose by Rs 96 to Rs 40,780 per ten grams. The rupee had lost nearly three paise against the dollar in day trade. "On Friday, the rupee fell nearly five paise to 71.31 against the dollar.
