Lucknow. A Hinduist leader was killed in broad daylight in Hazratganj, the most posh area of the capital. Ranjit Bachchan, president of the Vishwa Hindu Mahasabha, who went out for the morning walk, was shot dead by miscreants. Earlier last year, Hinduist leader and Hindu Samaj Party President Kamlesh Tiwari was strangled to death. According to the information, when Ranjit, a resident of Gorakhpur, went out for a morning walk in the morning, the bike riding miscreants shot him in the head. Ranjit died on the spot.
On receipt of the information, the police reached the spot and took the body and sent it for postmortem. The police is looking for the killers. Ranjit Bachchan, a resident of Gorakhpur, lived in the B-block of the OCR building of Hazratganj. Earlier Ranjit has also been associated with Samajwadi Party. According to the police, along with his brother Ashish Srivastava, he went on a morning walk. The bike riding miscreants started firing on them as soon as they left the Globe Park near Parivartan Chowk. In the attack, Ranjit was shot in the head and died on the spot, while the injured Ashish is undergoing treatment at the trauma center. Police are investigating the reason behind the murder.
