Jammu The Jammu and Kashmir Tax Department has set a target of 20 percent increase in tax collections by the end of the current financial year. A senior officer has given information about this. State tax commissioner of Jammu and Kashmir PK Bhatt said here that for 2019-20, a target of 20 percent increase has been fixed in certain items of tax collection. He said that it is estimated that 16 percent and four percent increase in stamp and MST items respectively. Finance Commissioner Arun Kumar Mehta lauded the efforts of officials for registering an increase of about 11 percent so far. He asked the officers to carry out intensive campaign to make people aware of the benefits of paying goods and services tax on time. He also directed to fill all the vacant posts in the department on a quick basis.
