Jaipur. Officials of the Customs Department apprehended 1.066 kg of gold allegedly smuggled to Jaipur International Airport on Wednesday. Also two people have been arrested. Officials said the value of the gold caught was 44.96 lakhs, which both of them had hidden in their private parts.
Deputy Commissioner of Customs, Yatish Mani said that on the basis of intelligence information late Tuesday night came from two different flights. Two passengers were stopped for questioning. Both had hidden pieces of gold in their private parts. Both of them have been arrested. 'According to the officials, both people are probably working as carriers for money. They do not know the source and destination of this illegal gold. He also has no previous criminal record. Among those caught, Mohammad Bilal hails from Ghaziabad who came here from Bangkok while Mohammad Abdul Nazir Kasargad hails from Kerala. 590 grams (worth 24.65 lakhs) and 476 grams (worth 20.31 lakhs) of gold have been recovered from them.
