Jaipur. Rajasthan has become the third state to pass a resolution against the CAA amid protests across the country against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). Earlier, the Kerala and Punjab Legislative Assembly had also passed a resolution against this law. At the same time, the West Bengal government is also going to bring a proposal against this law soon. Apart from this, other Congress-ruled states are also opposing this law and they can also bring a resolution against it soon.
Please tell that Congress-ruled states have refused to implement the law. The left government of Kerala took the first step in this direction. The Left government passed a resolution against the law in the Legislative Assembly. After this, the Punjab government led by Captain also passed a resolution against this law. Significantly, under the CAA, there is a provision for granting citizenship to refugees from six religions from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh. Under this, it was said that citizenship would be given only to those who came to India due to religious persecution. Also, the rule of giving citizenship to people who came to India before 31 December 2014 has been decided. The Congress alleges that the government is giving citizenship on religious grounds, which is against the Constitution.
