PM Modi spoke on National Voters' Day
New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the people on Saturday on National Voters' Day. He said that the nation expresses gratitude to the Election Commission for trying to make the election process more lively and participatory. For the last 10 years, the Election Commission has been celebrating 25 January as National Voters' Day. The Election Commission was established on 25 January 1950, a day before India became a republic. On Twitter, the Prime Minister said, "We thank the Election Commission of India for its many efforts towards making our election process more lively and participatory." He hoped that the day would inspire people to work towards increasing voter awareness and voting, which makes democracy stronger.
