Bengaluru. Controversy has once again arisen over the statement of former Union Minister and BJP MP from Karnataka Anant Kumar Hegde. Hegde has attacked Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the nation this time. He has termed the freedom movement led by Mahatma Gandhi a complete 'drama'. . Addressing an event held in Bengaluru on Saturday, MP from North Kannada Lok Sabha seat, Hegde said that the entire freedom struggle was carried out with the consent and help of the British. Hegde said that none of these alleged leaders had been beaten by the police even once. His freedom struggle was a big drama.

Hegde said, these leaders had launched the struggle for independence with the consent of the British people. This was not a real struggle. It was a struggle for freedom from collusion. The BJP leader called Mahatma Gandhi's hunger strike and satyagraha a 'drama'. He said, 'People who support the Congress keep saying that India got independence due to hunger strike and satyagraha, but this is not true. The British did not leave India because of Satyagraha. The British came in despair and gave us freedom. When I read history, my blood boils. In this way people became Mahatmas in our country.
